Target:
The course is designed to equip Development and Management Officers working in community based programmes in churches and church related NGO’s.
Course Objectives
• To enable participants understand the concept of gender and its application in development process.
• To equip participants to mainstream gender in their organizations and develop gender sensitive programmes.
• To sensitize participants of management challenges of mainstreaming gender in an African church context and share experiences of successful strategies employed elsewhere.

• Tools for Gender Analysis.
• Social Construction of Gender
• Gender church based projects and programmes.
• Gender and Organizational culture (Legal & Cultural Issues)/ Engendering policies.
• Gender issues in management and strategies for mainstreaming.
• Bringing men on board in redressing gender imbalances.
Module 3: Gender Related Development and Management issues:
• Development perspectives (Wearing gender sensitive lenses).
• Platforms for Action. African and Global).
• Planning- the Bottom-Up approach ( participatory planning).
• Programme implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation.
• Engendered Budgeting and budgetary controls.
• Guidelines for designing gender- sensitive development programme interventions.
• Developing gender policies and Action plans.
