Target
The Course is designed to equip Church leaders and Project Managers/ Officers with skills in managing HIV and AIDS programmes.
Course objectives
• To equip participants with counseling skills for management of HIV and AIDS programmes.
• Introduce church leadership to pastoral counseling and its relevance in the prevention and
management of HIV and AIDS.
• To strengthen the church’s role to respond to HIV and AIDS.

Module2: Human Development, Sexuality and HIV&AIDS
• Introduction to counseling.
• Adolescent development and sexuality and counseling.
• Adulthood, premarital sexuality, marriage and counseling.
Module 3: Pastoral Care and Counseling on HIV&AIDS
• The counselor and the counsel.
• Counseling process.
• Pastoral care and counseling HIV and AIDS.
• Way forward for the church in the prevention and management of HIV and AIDS.
Module 4: Church involvement in fighting HIV and AIDS
• Facts about HIV and AIDS.
• Prevention and control of HIV and AIDS.
• Pastoral care for the infected.
• Home care and support.
• Role of church and its leadership in HIV/AIDS.
• Starting a welfare desk in the church.
